about

All songs written, recorded, and produced by Matt Reischling
'Across the Border' co-produced w/ Charlie Torres of monstergetdown
'I'm Gone' produced by Dominic Carrillo

After the coldness of my last album title (Stretches of Concrete), I wanted to call the next one something fun. Anytime I felt blissful, I'd describe it as 'delicious.' Which led to 'conditions.' And then to the title, 'Delicious Conditions.' However, the sunny phrase couldn't mask my continued focus on some heavier themes. The main ones being; the fleeting nature of life, and unrequited love. But the album's light and playful too! A sonic buffet, if you will. But not a Sizzler buffet. That's unsanitary. Some collaborations to mention on this one...

Years ago, my friend, Dominic Carrillo, was visiting in NorCal and recorded my vocals/rhythm guitar to a click track in Garageband. Over time, he added digital drums, keys, and another live guitar. Eventually, he sent it all back me to as a mixed WAV file, and I loved it! He also made a music video for the song set to images captured on his cell phone. Here's the YouTube link:

Another friend, Charlie Torres of 'monstergetdown' fame (now signed to DeadMau5's record label), brought over his laptop one day in Boyle Heights, and we combed through his beats. Once we zeroed in on one, I laid down a melodic riff on guitar, which then led to lyrics. Charlie said he still plays the song ('Across The Border') as the crowd disperses after finishing his set at whatever massive, global, EDM festival he performs at these days. Check him out on Spotify!

Also, a video was shot in San Pedro, CA for the instrumental track, 'Midnight Melody,' and was directed by the talented, LA-based filmmaker, Eric Pritchard. It stars me, mystical Vicky, and two young girls jump roping. The link for that video is here:

Lastly, I've included two bonus tracks that were originally left off the album for whatever reason. I think they work well and add texture to this collection. The two bonus tracks are: 'Always Faded' and 'Nervous Eyes.' Have a listen! -Matt xo
